Three Lakewood armed robbery suspects arrested in Orange County.

At 9:35 am on January 29, 2014, deputies from Lakewood Sheriff’s Station responded to a robbery call at the Radio Shack in the 2700 block of Carson Street, Lakewood.  Two male adults held up the store at gunpoint and fled.  They obtained an undetermined amount of cash and merchandise.  A Sheriff’s Department helicopter located the suspect’s vehicle, which eventually exited the 22 Freeway onto Beach Boulevard in the city of Westminster.  When deputies converged in the area of Arizona Street and 23rd Street, three suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.  Two suspects were captured almost immediately.  An area containment was established by deputies with the assistance of the Westminster Police Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Department.  The third suspect was located hiding in a nearby trash container after a short search.  A handgun, as well as additional evidence linking the three suspects to the robbery, was also recovered.

Due to the cooperative efforts of the involved agencies, all three suspects are being booked at Lakewood Sheriff’s Station for charges of armed robbery.  Detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident.
