Burglary reported on Amesbury Rd (2/3/14).

A burglary was reported to the police department this evening that happened sometime during the day today. The residence is in the area of Amesbury Rd and Brewer Rd. A neighbor had driven by and seen a vehicle in the driveway that they didn’t recognize and was possibly associated with the burglary. They knew that no one was supposed to be at the residence at the time the vehicle was seen. We can’t stress enough how important it is that suspicious activity is reported to us IMMEDIATELY. It is impossible for us to be everywhere at once so we ask again that everyone be vigilant and please lookout for your neighbors.

Please call 911 or 772-2929 to report any suspicious activity.

On a lighter note, if you fill out a house check request form and list a neighbor as an emergency contact check with them before you do and make sure they aren’t going away as well (happened recently). Also try to have a plan in place for snow removal while you are away. When burglars are looking for properties to break into nothing screams you’re not home more than an unplowed driveway with no vehicle tracks or foot prints and it last snowed a few days ago.
