Steuben County Commissioners are continuing Steuben County with the yellow travel advisory. Steuben County remains under a winter storm warning by the National Weather Service. Conditions will be closely monitored throughout the evening, nighttime and early morning hours. Should conditions deteriorate that require a change in travel advisory, it will be sent to all local media outlets, Nixle Text Alert, the Steuben County Sheriff Office facebook page and posted on www.steubensheriff.com
The latest National Weather Service advisory has indicated the following:
This Afternoon Snow likely, mainly after 5pm. Cloudy, with a high near 23. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tonight Snow with areas of blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 17. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
Wednesday Snow with areas of blowing snow before 10am, then snow likely with areas of blowing snow between 10am and 1pm, then areas of blowing snow and a chance of snow after 1pm. High near 23. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
