SCAM PHONE CALLS FROM AREA CODE
268 OR 473 DO NOT CALL BACK!

I received this from my employer today.

We have been advised of a cell phone scam that all of you need to be made aware of.
Scammers use a programmed computer to call multiple, random cell phone numbers all at once and then hang up after just one ring. If the call is returned, the caller is charged $19.95 for an international call fee and a $9 per minute charge after that. Officials say music is played and sometimes an advertisement to make charges rack up.

These calls will more than likely come from a 268 or 473 area code.

Do not return any missed calls from these numbers or any other number that seems suspicious. This is happening nationwide and is not limited to just business phones so take this into account for your personal & family service as well.

Phone carriers such as AT&T Mobility, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless are unable to block these calls.

File a police report if you become a victim.
