Steuben at Travel WATCH level 
The Steuben County Commissioners in cooperation with the Sheriff, Steuben County Highway and the Steuben County Emergency Management have upgraded the travel alert to a Snow WATCH Level for Steuben County effective immediately. Driving is to be emergency and essential travel only. Should you require travel, please drive slower than normal, give yourself plenty of travel time and plenty of stopping distance between other vehicles and at intersections. State and County Highway departments will be out all day clearing roadways.
Conditions will be monitored throughout the day and reviewed again at 3:00 P.M. A status update will be released on conditions shortly thereafter. Regular media outlets plus the Sheriff Facebook page, www.steubensheriff.com and Nixle text alerts will be used to alert everyone of any updates.
WATCH
Means that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. During a "watch" local travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies, and other organizations.
