Canyon has not seen wind chills this low in a long time. Please take necessary precautions if you must be out in this weather. Dress in layers and avoid long exposure to the cold. Call the Canyon Police Department or Canyon Fire Department if you suspect someone is without adequate heating in their home. We will do a welfare check upon request. Stay with your car if you find yourself stranded on the side of the road. Police have been directed to check all motorists believed to be stuck or having car trouble. Activate your hazard lights if you are experiencing car trouble. Extremely cold weather will remain in place through Thursday. Warmer temperatures are expected Friday and throughout the weekend.
