Good afternoon,
You are receiving this e-mail this afternoon, because you are subscribed to receive emergency notifications from the City of La Vista.
We are testing the City’s new emergency notification system, which gives us the ability to send different types of emergency messages to subscribers by phone, text and/or e-mail, depending on the situation.
Messages sent to subscribers will be one of three types:
• Alerts – messages pertaining to urgent matters involving health, life, safety and property dangers, such as water boil orders, health pandemics and shelter in place orders.
• Advisories – messages sent to residents in a specific geographic area regarding topics such as water main breaks, major road closures and missing children.
• Community – messages sent via e-mail only regarding City-sponsored events that will impact a specific area with a large population.
We will not use this system lightly and will only send messages when absolutely necessary.
If you would like to unsubscribe from this service or edit your account settings:
• Go to www.nixle.com and in the top right-hand corner, click on the sign in link for registered
subscribers.
• You will need to reset your password since it was automatically set by the system.
• Once you’ve rest your password, log in to your account. Your username will be your e-mail address.
• If you would like to unsubscribe from all e-mail and/or text messages from La Vista, click on the Account tab and check the “Disable All Email Notifications” and “Disable All SMS Notifications” boxes.
• If you would like to receive only certain types of messages, click on the Settings tab and next to
“City of La Vista NE”, click the drop down box.
• This will display a list of preferences ranging from “None” to “Alerts, Advisories and Community
Messages”. Select the option that reflects the types of messages you wish to receive and click the Save button at the bottom.
