Burglary / Shots Fired
On Monday, Feb. 10th, 2014 at approximately 7:45 AM a burglary took place on April’s Way in Fairburn. Three suspects, described as black males, late teens to early twenties, were seen leaving a house with a television and other electronic items. A neighbor saw the burglars and called 9-1-1. The neighbor then confronted the three suspects as they were leaving. The suspects produced at least one firearm and opened fire on the neighbor. The neighbor also had a weapon and returned fire at the suspects. Approximately ten to twelve shots were fired.
Nobody at the scene was injured, it is unknown if any of the suspects were injured by gunfire as they drove away.
According to witnesses the suspects were driving a burgundy or gray in color SUV, possibly a Chevy Equinox. Evidence at the scene indicates at least one window of the suspect vehicle was broken out by gunfire, possibly the driver side rear window. The suspect vehicle is believed to have at least one bullet hole in it.
