UPDATED MESSAGE FROM WATER WORKS AND LIGHTING COMMISSION FOR CITY OF WISCONSIN RAPIDS CUSTOMERS

UPDATED MESSAGE FROM WATER WORKS AND LIGHTING COMMISSION FOR CITY OF WISCONSIN RAPIDS CUSTOMERS

Utility officials have issued a run water order for about 260 customers on the City’s southeast side. All customers affected have been contacted directly. If you have not been contacted, you are not required to run your water.

Affected customers need to keep a faucet running the size of a pencil diameter on a faucet convenient to them until further notice to prevent pipes from freezing. A billing adjustment will be made for these customers so they are not charged for this water.

If you have not been contacted, you are not required to run your water. If you decide to run water on your own, there will not be a billing adjustment made for you. If you are not required to run your water and you have a freeze-up, the utility will thaw your service free of charge.
