The City is receiving numerous calls regarding individual water service lines freezing. Check city website for details.

Frozen Water Services
The City is receiving an increased number of calls regarding individual water service lines freezing (this is the line from the main in the street to the building).

Due to the extreme weather conditions water customers need to monitor the temperature of your water. If the temperature of your water is 40 degrees or lower, let your water run at a small steady stream. If it reaches 38
degrees, the stream should be the size of a pencil. (the lower the temperature the more water you need to run.) Please note, this is different than the water pipes in your house freezing. It is the service line from the main in the street to the individual properties that is freezing. Frost is reported to be 4 ½-5 ½ feet deep in uncovered areas. Please feel free to contact City Hall at (563) 927-3636 with any questions you may have.
