Find Your True "Literary Love" and Maybe a Date Too at This Fun, Free Event!
What better place to get inspired this Valentine's Day than surrounded by the great love stories of our time? The Otay Ranch Town Center branch of The Chula Vista Public Library will host a fun and unique speed dating event this Valentine's season.
Adults over the age of 21 can meet their "novel" friends or maybe a new love at the library's "Literary Speed Dating" on Wednesday, February 12 at 6 p.m. In classic speed dating style, participants have five minutes with each partner to talk over their favorite books -- love stories or otherwise.
This is a free event but registration is required; evening also features live entertainment and complimentary light refreshments to set the mood.
Since opening in 2012, the Otay Ranch branch of the Chula Vista Library has continued to grow and succeed, adding various new programs and services. This innovative branch is a partnership between the City of Chula Vista and Otay Ranch Town Center, providing the residents of Eastern Chula Vista with a much-needed library location. Centrally located in the middle of this popular retail and entertainment destination, the branch library also features free wi-fi that extends into the nearby Food Pavilion and beyond, providing even greater amenities for visitors.
"Sharing passions about stories that touch people's lives is a great way to connect with another person and this event is a great way to do so and meet new people. Plus, if you make a connection, there are several great restaurant choices at Otay Ranch Town Center to go out and keep the conversation growing!” said Betty Waznis, director of the Chula Vista Library.
Library hours are Monday - Thursday from 11 a.m. To 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
