Correction's officers are responsible for overseeing individuals who have been arrested and are awaiting trial or who have been sentenced to serve time in a jail or prison.
This job is not for everyone...Working in a correctional institution can be stressful and dangerous. Because jail security must be provided 24 hours a day, officers work all hours of the day and night, weekends, and holidays.
This position is full-time with a starting rate of pay of $13.50 per hour with medical and retirement benefits included. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent , be able to pass psychological testing, drug testing and be in good physical health. Applicants will also be required to pass an extensive background check including polygraph or voice stress analysis testing prior to employment.
