A local woman was arrested late Monday after allegedly attacking a Royal woman at the victim’s residence and damaging the victim’s vehicle.
Rebecca Lynn Wagner, 49, who lists an address of 3133 Albert Pike Road, No. 32, was taken into custody shortly after 10 p.m. at the residence in the 100 block of Algonkin Drive in Royal and charged with third-degree domestic battery, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail.
She was still being held without bond Tuesday and is set to appear Feb. 25 in Garland County District Court.
According to reports, around 9:45 p.m., Garland County Sheriff ’s Sgt. Roy Williams and Deputy Richard Huffman were dispatched to the residence on Algonkin regarding a domestic disturbance and made contact with the victim, 31, who stated her “live-in friend,” identified as Wagner, had punched her in the face when she confronted her “about the way she was talking to her kids.”
She also alleged that Wagner threw a rock and broke the taillight out of her 1995 Ford Aerostar van parked at the residence.
The deputies noted the victim had a small cut on her upper lip and abrasions on the left side of her face and she was complaining of pain to her face. LifeNet had responded to the scene and the victim was later transported to Mercy Hospital Hot Springs for treatment.
Deputies spoke to Wagner who stated “she did not do anything.” She stated the victim had punched her in the left eye and was choking her after she confronted her about taking her medication.
They spoke to a male witness at the scene who stated the victim was talking to Wagner about the way she was talking to her kids when Wagner pushed her and then punched her in the face.
Another male witness, 34, who also lives at the residence, was the one who reportedly called 911 about the incident.
The report notes Wagner was taken into custody without incident.
