Felony Larceny After Breaking or Entering; and
Resist/Delay/Obstruct an Officer
The Southern Pines Police Department announces the arrest of Tyrone Demetrius McNeill, 28 years of age, of Aberdeen, North Carolina on the above charges. This arrest stems from an investigation by the Patrol and Investigation Divisions into a burglar alarm activation that was reported to the Southern Pines Police Department at approximately 4:30 am on February 13, 2014. This alarm activation occurred at Brenda’s Jewelers 10205 U.S. Highway 15/501, Southern Pines, North Carolina.
Upon arrival, investigating officers found that the front entry door had been broken and entry into the business had occurred. Patrol officers successfully tracked Tyrone Demetrius McNeill from the crime scene to Murray Hill Road. Following a brief foot chase, Tyrone Demetrius McNeill was placed into custody in the 900 block of Richards Street without further incident.
Tyrone Demetrius McNeill appeared before a Moore County Magistrate and was incarcerated in the Moore County Detention Center under a $5,000 secure bond pending a hearing on March 14, 2014 in Moore County District Court.
