RED FLAG WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM MST THIS EVENING

MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY FROM MID DAY THROUGH EVENING.

WEST 20 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH...EXCEPT FOR SOME GUSTS TO 55 MPH DURING THE EARLY EVENING ALONG THE EAST SLOPES OF THE CENTRAL MOUNTAIN CHAIN. WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME NORTHWESTERLY TONIGHT...AND THEY WILL REMAIN STRONG EAST OF THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...MINIMUM VALUES BETWEEN 10 AND 18 PERCENT WITH THE DRIEST READINGS ACROSS CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN AREAS.

* IMPACTS...ANY FIRES THAT DEVELOP WILL LIKELY SPREAD RAPIDLY. OUTDOOR BURNING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
