The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather ADVISORY for CY County from 3AM until noon Thurs.

In addition, a Wind Advisory will be in effect from noon until 6:00 PM Thursday.

THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT
FROM 3 AM TO NOON CST THURSDAY.

* TIMING...A BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED TO MOVE
INTO THE AREA BETWEEN 3 AND 6 AM. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL IS
EXPECTED TO OCCUR BETWEEN 6 AND 10 AM WITH THE SNOW ENDING BY
NOON.

* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...1 TO 2 INCHES OF A HEAVY WET SNOW.

* WINDS...NORTHWEST WINDS 25 TO 30 MPH GUSTING UP TO 45 MPH.

* IMPACTS...ROADS MAY BECOME SNOW COVERED AND SLICK. THE STRONG
WINDS WILL LIKELY CAUSE BLOWING SNOW AND POOR VISIBILITIES. THE
STRONG WINDS WILL MAKE TRAVELING ESPECIALLY DIFFICULT FOR HIGH
PROFILE VEHICLES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

WINTRY PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO CAUSE HAZARDOUS DRIVING
CONDITIONS. THOSE WITH TRAVEL PLANS ARE ADVISED TO CHOOSE AN
ALTERNATE ROUTE...OR SHOULD USE EXTREME CAUTION IF TRAVEL IS
UNAVOIDABLE.
