The attached image shows that the line of severe storms which has already produced wind damage is moving into an even more favorable environment for the storms to strengthen. The blue lines indicate where the atmosphere is favorable for the formation of “Supercells”. Supercells are the most intense type of severe storms. So during the next 2-3 hours, locations from the US-1 corridor and Triangle regions east to the I-95 corridor and coastal plain will be under the threat for severe thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes. Be ready to act quickly if a warning is issued for your area, or if you see threatening weather approaching.
