Traffic congestion expected in Columbia City around 4 pm today due to a large funeral procession.
The Columbia City Police Department advises you to drive with caution and expect traffic congestion today due to a large funeral procession which will include vehicles and pedestrian runners.
The procession will commence around 4:00 p.m. and is expected to cause traffic backups in and around the area, specifically US 30, Line Street and South Main Street.
The designated route of travel will be West on Countryside Drive from Demoney Grimes Funeral Home at 600 Countryside Drive, then South on State Road 9 to Frontage Rd, West on Frontage to State Road 109, then South across US 30 onto Line Street. They will proceede South on Line from US 30 to Ellsworth Street, then turn East, crossing Main St/State Rd 9 and continuing to the Greenhill Cemetery at 500 E Ellsworth Street. Runners will join the procession in the area of Line and Van Buren Streets.
