Advisory

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW & BLOWING SNOW IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM TONIGHT TILL 4PM THURSDAY.

------------ ALERT: SEVERE WEATHER WARNINGS AND WATCHES -------------

.SNOW WITH BLOWING & DRIFTING SNOW & COLD WIND CHILLS.

.A FAIRLY STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CROSS LAKE SUPERIOR AND FAR N. LAKE HURON TONIGHT. VERY GUSTY WINDS AHEAD & AGAIN BEHIND THIS SYSTEM.COMBINED WITH LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW WILL BRING PERIODS OF BLOWING & DRIFTING SNOW THAT IS EXPECTED TO LEAD TO HAZARDOUS TRAVEL & ROAD CONDITIONS.

THE EXTENT OF BLOWING & DRIFTING IS A BIT UNCERTAIN AT THIS TIME DUE TO THE DIFFICULTY IN DETERMINING SNOWFALL AMOUNTS DUE TO ICE COVER ON THE GREAT LAKES. WINDS AT A MIN.WHEN COMBINED WITH LIGHT SNOW AMOUNTS.WILL BE STRONG ENOUGH TO BRING NUMEROUS AREAS OF BLOWING & DRIFTING. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE IN THE MORE EXPOSED AREAS.WHERE VISIBILITIES WILL PERIODICALLY BE POOR & SOME ROADS WILL HAVE AREAS OF DEEPER SNOW DRIFTS.
