Details: The Town of Poughkeepsie Traffic Enforcement Unit reports investigating a three-car personal injury motor vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 10:28am on February 26 2014. This occurred on State Route 9 in the area of the Galleria Mall. A 2003 Ford Windstar van driven by an 83 year old Staatsburg woman was traveling northbound when it stuck a stopped 2014 Subaru Legacy sedan. The Subaru had stopped for a disabled vehicle in the left lane, a 2003 Ford Taurus.

The accident resulted in a pedestrian, an 85 year old Poughkeepsie woman, being pinned between her disabled vehicle and the Subaru. The pedestrian was transported to St. Francis Hospital by Mobile Life Ambulance for serious injuries to both her legs. The road was closed for some time while preliminary measurements and photographs were taken of the scene. The Town of Poughkeepsie Police were assisted by the New Hamburg Fire Department.
