Franklin Home Invasion Suspects In Custody; Multi-agency response leads to quick capture
Franklin, TN –Suspects wanted in a Franklin home invasion are now in custody thanks to an alert Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Detective.
At 10:00 this morning, Franklin Police Officers were dispatched to 138 Grigsby, in The Highlands at Ladd Park Subdivision, for a home invasion that had just occurred. A male resident at the home was getting out of the shower when he was surprised by a suspect who held him at gunpoint as others began to tie him up. The three men and a woman then stole several guns, a television, and other items before fleeing the home. After the suspects left, the resident was able to go to a neighbor’s home for help.
A Williamson County Detective spotted suspects matching the description provided by the victim in a white van traveling north on I-65 in Brentwood. The driver led Brentwood Police and the Williamson County Detective on a pursuit into south Nashville. Officers from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Brentwood and Nashville Police took four suspects into custody after the van crashed at the Prestige Pointe Apartments, 200 Paragon Mills Road. A fifth fleeing occupant of that van remains at large.
Chief David Rahinsky credits the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Brentwood, and Metro Police for the quick capture. “Williamson County Detective Amy Cole was paying close attention to police radio traffic, and was able to quickly spot the suspects. Brentwood Police provided her with immediate assistance as the suspects began to flee on I-65. Metro Police helicopter pilot Jon McVey provided tremendous air support, helping to track the vehicle and suspects who fled on foot after the crash. What a great example of inter-agency teamwork.”
Items from the Franklin home invasion were discovered in the suspect vehicle, and the suspects are now in Franklin Police custody. More information on this very active investigation will be released as details become available later this afternoon.
