USAG-HI is practicing emergency response during two-day exercise
The 8th Military Police Brigade and the garrison's Directorate of Emergency Services are conducting a training and validation exercise, Feb. 26-27, on Schofield Barracks.
Personnel on post may notice additional emergency response equipment, vehicles and personnel stationed and in use around the installation. This will include personnel in full reaction and response gear, such as fire, CBRN, military police, military working dog, first responder, explosive ordnance disposal and special reaction teams.
Simulated smoke and artillery may be used in these scenarios. Overcast conditions may increase noise and vibrations. There is no immediate danger to the community or need to report these incidents to the Military Police desks.
The Army in Hawaii appreciates the community's understanding and continued support of Soldiers and emergency response personnel. While sometimes loud and inconvenient, these training exercises represent how the Army ensures readiness and ability to accomplish the mission.
