Police Investigate Sexual Battery

On February 21, 2014 at approximately 11:00 a.m., officers met with a 33-year old Los Banos woman who reported an assault. The victim was jogging in the 300-400 block of the Rail Trail. A male riding a bicycle approached the woman from behind and slapped her on the buttocks.

The suspect fled westbound along the Rail Trail towards 2nd Street.
The suspect was described as being a Hispanic male adult, early 20’s, approximately 5’8” with a medium build. The suspect was further described as wearing a red or black baseball hat and black clothing with a red stripe down the shirt and pants.

Officers conducted a thorough search of the area however, the suspect was not located.

This assault is currently under investigation and anyone with information on this crime is urged to contact Detective-Sergeant Ivan Mendez at (209) 827-7070, extension “114.”
