Charges Laid Against 4 Home Invasion Suspects; Chief credits inter-departmental cooperation for quick arrests

Franklin, TN – Franklin Police have booked four suspects into the Williamson County Jail following this morning’s home invasion robbery in the Highlands at Ladd Park Subdivision.

Maurice Chapman – 26 of Nashville, 20-year-old Emily Faulkner of Murfreesboro, 26-year-old Mario Flores of Nashville, and 29-year-old Keyona Newell of Madison have all been charged with Aggravated Robbery. Each are being held on a $250,000 bond and due in court 03/13/2014 at 1:00 pm. Additional charges against these suspects is likely forthcoming. Detectives are working to identify a fifth suspect in the case.

At 10:00 this morning, Franklin Police Officers were dispatched to 138 Grigsby, in The Highlands at Ladd Park Subdivision, for a home invasion that had just occurred. A male resident at the home was getting out of the shower when he was surprised by two men and two women who held him at gunpoint while they tied him up. The suspects stole several guns, a television, and other valuables before fleeing the home. That is when the victim was able to go to a neighbor’s home for help.

A Williamson County Detective spotted suspects matching the description provided by the victim in a white van traveling north on I-65 in Brentwood. The driver led Brentwood Police and the Williamson Detective on a pursuit into south Nashville where a Metro Police helicopter helped to lead officers to four of the five suspects after the van crashed at the Prestige Pointe Apartments.

The victim and suspects in this case are not acquainted with one another. Detectives, however, have determined that the home was not randomly chosen, but that this home was specifically targeted.

Chief David Rahinsky credits the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Brentwood, and Metro Police for the quick capture, calling the arrest a great example of inter-agency teamwork.
