Fieldstone Farms Man Identified, Interviewed; Police, parents relieved to learn man was neighborhood dad checking on girls

Franklin, TN – This morning, Franklin Police spoke with the man who unintendedly caused quite a stir in the Fieldstone Farms Subdivision. Officers, who flooded that area this morning as children walked to school, spotted the vehicle in question near Hunters Bend Elementary. The driver, who had just dropped his own child off at school, flagged officers down and said that he thought he may be someone they were looking for.

The man immediately agreed to speak with detectives, voluntarily, at Franklin Police Headquarters. The neighborhood dad said that on the day in question, he was on his way back to his Fieldstone Farms home after dropping his child off at school. On his way, he encountered the girls on their bicycles, who appeared lost, and stopped to check on them. Detectives are convinced that his intentions were good, and that the man was actually looking out for the girls.

“After looking at this closely, we’re certain that nothing was afoot here,” said Sgt. Charles Warner. “When it comes to kids, however, we have a huge responsibility to get it right. That’s why we sent the alert, and flooded area schools with extra officers this morning. Today’s resolution is a best-case scenario, and a relief.”
