Franklin, TN – Last night, Franklin Police cited an employee at TGI Fridays, 520 Cool Springs Boulevard, and Mickey Roos, 509 Hillsboro Road, for Underage Sale of Alcohol.
Franklin PD Flex and Vice Unit Officers used an underage informant to check 14 Franklin businesses last night. While 12 carded and denied the minor, servers at TGI Fridays and Mickey Roos were charged with a Class-A misdemeanor, punishable by a fine and time in jail. Owners of the two businesses now face civil penalties, including fines and potential loss of permits.
“Franklin businesses that sell and serve alcohol are licensed and regulated by city and state government,” said Franklin Police Chief David Rahinsky. “Our obligation to ensure that they’re acting responsibly is one that we take very seriously.”
Franklin businesses that sell or serve alcohol should expect these compliance checks to continue, and avoid the avoidable by educating employees and demanding their compliance.
