Winter Storm Warning Sunday
A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM SUNDAY TO 6 AM CST MONDAY.
* LIGHT FREEZING RAIN WILL OVERSPREAD THE AREA LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. THE FREEZING RAIN WILL TRANSITION OVER TO SLEET AND SNOW SUNDAY EVENING. SNOW WILL EVENTUALLY TAPER OFF TOWARD DAYBREAK MONDAY.
* HEAVY ACCUMULATIONS OF ICE...SLEET...AND SNOW ARE EXPECTED. SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS OF THREE TO SIX INCHES ARE EXPECTED TO FALL ON TOP OF A QUARTER TO HALF INCH OF ICE IN AREAS ALONG AND NORTH OF THE OHIO RIVER. ICE ACCUMULATIONS OVER A HALF INCH ARE POSSIBLE SOUTH OF THE OHIO RIVER. SOME THUNDER WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE...WHICH COULD LEAD TO SOME ISOLATED HIGHER ACCUMULATIONS.
* IMPACTS...TRAVEL CONDITIONS WILL BECOME PROGRESSIVELY MORE TREACHEROUS THROUGH THE DAY SUNDAY AND ESPECIALLY SUNDAY NIGHT. TREE DAMAGE AND POWER OUTAGES WILL BE POSSIBLE.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW...SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
