Winter storm warning remains in effect from 9PM this evening to 4PM Monday for our area.
The National Weather Service continues the winter storm warning for our area from 9PM this evening through 4PM tomorrow area. Current forecasts are indicating a possibility of significant snowfalls producing 8-12 inches. Temperatures will drop well below freezing. As with past storms, this storm may start off with rain, sleet, and freezing rain which will cause icy conditions on the frozen ground. Wind gusts 40 mph will produce snow drifting and poor visibility. Icy conditions could be a problem multiple days due to the weather event and the following thawing with re-freezing when temperatures permit.
Buena Vista Township Public Works has treated municipal roads and have adjusted work schedules available to address plowing operations when necessary. County and State highways are addressed by the county and state departments respectively.
Although the storm could change, we do recommend early preparations. Residents are reminded to not park on roadways to allow plow operations and emergency response vehicles to pass through. At this time there are no declarations of emergency or closings. If conditions deteriorate as forecasted, roadway travel should be avoided and caution taken to avoid falls, injuries, or health emergencies during this weather event.
