A Hot Springs man was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly attacking his girlfriend and fleeing from Garland County sheriff’s deputies Saturday night.
Cedric Allen Wiley, 23, who lists an address of 319 Fleet St., was taken into custody in Mountain Pine shortly after 8 p.m. and charged with misdemeanor counts of third-degree assault on a family or household member and fleeing on foot.
Wiley, who also had warrants for breaking or entering, theft of property and failure to pay, remained in custody Monday in lieu of bonds totaling $4,750 and is set to appear March 11 in Garland County District Court.
According to reports, around 7:45 p.m. Saturday, GCSD Deputies Charles DeLahunt and Richard Huffman were dispatched to a disturbance in progress in the 100 block of LeFlore Avenue in Mountain Pine and were met by two female witnesses, ages 40 and 17, who lived at the residence.
They stated the suspect, identified as Wiley, had run into the house where the victim, 30, of Little Rock, was and grabbed her by the neck and pushed her against a wall. They stated they grabbed Wiley and pulled him back out of the residence and he ran off as the deputies arrived.
They spoke to the victim, who was upset and crying but had no visible injuries, and she stated Wiley was her boyfriend and was demanding money from her. When she refused he had grabbed her and shoved her against the wall.
The deputies drove over to where Wiley had last been seen and as they pulled up he ran into the woods. After a short foot pursuit, they were able to apprehend him and take him into custody without further incident.
