Newberry County Coroner Craig Newton has released the identity of a man killed in an industrial accident early Saturday morning. Todd Hendrix ,46 years of age from Greenwood, S.C., was accidently killed at approximately 4:15 a.m. on March 8th. According to Newton, Mr. Hendrix was last seen about 30 minutes prior to discovery. The death occurred at the Louis Rich plant located just outside of the City of Newberry. Coroner Newton advised that an autopsy revealed the cause of death as asphyxia due to a mechanical entrapment. Newton further advised that the death has been ruled as an accident and that no foul play is suspected. In accordance with protocol, the Newberry Coroner's Office reported the incident to "OSHA". At this time, the incident remains under the investigation of the Newberry County Coroner's Office and "OSHA". The Newberry Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation.
