The current Winter Storm Watch is upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning from 8 am Wednesday until noon Thursday
The current Winter Storm Watch has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning in effect from 8:00 am Wednesday until noon Thursday for heavy mixed precipitation with snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches along with around a tenth of an inch of ice.
Snow will begin during the morning on Wednesday and then transition to a mix of sleet and snow.
The mixture may transition to freezing rain in spots Wednesday evening before changing to all snow late at night into Thursday. Any precipitation could be heavy at times Wednesday evening.
The potential for heavy snow or heavy mixed precipitation will make for hazardous driving conditions. The snow that falls would likely be wet and heavy. That, along with sleet and any freezing rain could make for power outage issues.
Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, with visibilities from one quarter mile or less at times and temperatures in the lower 20s.
Instructions:
Precautionary / preparedness actions - A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice are expected or occurring and strong winds are also possible which will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
Please monitor a reliable weather source for updates.
