Steuben County Commissioners in cooperation with the Sheriff, Emergency Management and the Steuben County Highway have placed Steuben County on a yellow travel ADVISORY. County roads in open areas are starting to show signs of drifting snow due to the high winds. Heavy snowfall with high winds are reducing visibility. Roads are becoming very slippery. Should you require travel please allow plenty of time, drive slower than normal and use full headlights during daytime travel rather than daytime running lights.
The travel advisory will be in effect indefinitely. Updates will be put out to regular media outlets, Nixle Text alerts, www.steubensheriff.com and the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
