Advisory

Snow Emergency in Milan is Lifted at 10:00 AM Today.

Mayor Armitage has lifted the Snow Emergency and all associated parking restrictions effective at 10:00 AM this morning, Thursday, 3-13-14. The Snow Emergency was allowed to remain in effect into the early morning hours this morning in order to provide plowing crews the opportunity to get through town and complete clean-up operations as well as attempt to plow all snow to the curb one more time this morning. It is important to attempt to clear the drains and curb drainage areas as much as possible as we anticipate warming temperatures and melting over the next several days to avoid pooling and re-freezing at night. Having cars off the streets provides plowing crews the room to complete this operation, it also greatly assists them plow more effectively and efficiently when large snow accumulations occur. We thank all of those who assisted by complying with these restrictions over the last day and a half. On behalf of the DPW plowing crews who worked throughout the storm, we wish to thank the community for their patience and cooperation during this operation.
