PPD is investigating a series of thefts from unlocked vehicles that occurred overnight on March 12-13th, 2014. 
The Placerville Police Department is investigating a series of thefts from unlocked vehicles that occurred last night, March 12-13th, 2014. The thefts mainly occurred in the Cold Springs, Canal Street and Spring Street neighborhoods. The items taken include: loose change, cash, wallets, gift cards, jewelry and small electronics.
The Police Department has also noticed an increase in vehicle thefts where the owners left the keys inside unlocked vehicles.
We are asking the public to remove personal items, including keys from your cars and lock your vehicles. If you notice anyone suspicious in your neighborhood, please call the non-emergency number at (530)642-5280.
