Newberry County Coroner Craig Newton has released the name of the victim involved in an early morning traffic fatality just outside the City of Newberry. Alex William Kibler, 20, of Pomaria, S.C. was killed instantly in a single motor vehicle accident on Mount Bethel Garmany Road in Newberry. Chief Deputy Coroner Lewis Lee stated Mr. Kibler's vehicle ran off of the left side of the roadway striking several trees. Lee further stated the accident occurred at approximately 3:15 a.m. on Sunday morning and that the victim was wearing a seatbelt. Mr. Kibler was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Deputy Coroner Lee has ordered an autopsy, scheduled for Monday morning, to assist in identifying the exact cause and manner of the accident. The collision remains under the investigation of the Newberry County Coroner's Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol. Coroner Craig Newton stated "this is truly a tragic loss to the Newberry County community. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this fine young man".
