Franklin, TN – Following an email sent to parents by Battle Ground Academy’s Head of School last night, the Franklin Police Department has received multiple inquiries from area news agencies. Our statement is as follows:
The Franklin Police Department, with the assistance of the United States Secret Service and Homeland Security Investigations, is conducting an ongoing investigation following a tip regarding the possible possession of child pornography. On 03/14/2014, a search warrant was executed at the residence of the subject of this investigation; his work computer was consensually surrendered by his employer following our request. We are working to determine if evidence of illegal, digital contraband exists in the items collected. No charges have been filed, nor are any concretely anticipated at this time. That, combined with the fact that this is an ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time. BGA administration is cooperating with our investigation, and questions regarding the subject’s position and status should be directed to school officials.
