Arrest of Two Suspects
On Monday, March 17th, 2014, at approximately 12:37pm, while conducting routine patrol, a Cypress Patrol Officer observed two male subjects driving a silver vehicle exit a residential area. These subjects matched the description of two burglary suspects that were associated with several recent residential burglaries in Cypress. Upon being seen by the officer, the two subjects immediately abandoned their vehicle and ran back into the neighborhood before the officer could make contact. After an extensive search, the two subjects were located and detained without incident. It was determined both of these subjects were in possession of property that was taken in a residential burglary that took place earlier in the day in the City of Anaheim. Furthermore, one of the subjects had two outstanding warrants and was in possession of a loaded, concealed firearm. Both suspects were placed under arrest without incident.
Kyron Shakir (11-30-94) was placed under arrest for violation of P.C. 496(a) – possession of stolen property, P.C. 24500(a)(1) – possession of a loaded, concealed firearm, P.C. 148(a)(1) – providing false information to a police officer, and two outstanding arrest warrants. Joshua Earlson (7-25-91) was placed under arrest for violation of P.C. 496(a) – possession of stolen property. Both were transported to the Cypress City Jail for processing and later booked at the Orange County Jail where they are being held on $50,000 bail.
