Residential Burglary Suspect Arrested
On March 18, 2014, deputies from Altadena Sheriff’s Station arrested a male burglary suspect near the 700 block of Poppyfields Drive, Altadena. The arrest occurred after Deputy Phillippi responded to a call of a male prowling in a residential back yard. The suspect fled prior to deputies arriving at the house.
Detective Phillippi canvassed the neighborhood, where she located the suspect, Gaylon Hawthorne, walking a few blocks from the residence where the burglary occurred. Based on the suspect matching the description provided by the resident, deputies conducted a field show-up. The victim identified Mr. Hawthorne, who was arrested and booked at Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station. The suspect is being held on a bail of $50,000.00.
Burglaries in Altadena are down almost 16% compared to the same period in 2013.
