WRPD INVESTIGATING FIREARM DISCHARGE INCIDENT
The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was called to the 3000 block of Eighth Street South on March 23, 2014 at 2:23 PM in reference to a disturbance between six to eight individuals where a firearm was discharged. A suspect vehicle was stopped in the area of Elm Street and Wood Street in Wisconsin Rapids a short time after the incident was reported. Five people from the suspect vehicle were detained and questioned.
The firearm has not been located at this time. Due to conflicting statements no arrests have been made. It is believed this was a result of an argument between two groups of individual who are known to each other and the public is in no immediate danger. The incident continues to be investigated by the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department.
At this time there have been no reported injuries in relation to the discharged firearm.
