Felon arrested after allegedly firing gun at family members

A Jessieville man who is a convicted felon was arrested late Sunday after allegedly firing a gun at family members for no apparent reason while they were visiting his residence.
Tony Ray Talley, 42, of 357 Talley Cemetery Road, was taken into custody at his residence shortly before 9 p.m. and charged with felony counts of committing a terroristic act and possession of a firearm by certain persons, each punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Talley, who was previously convicted of a felony in Garland County in 1993 and of domestic battery in 2005, remained in custody Monday in lieu of $10,000 bond and is set to appear April 8 in Garland County District Court.
According to reports, Garland County Sheriff’s Cpl. Josh Cannon and Deputy Clayton Green were dispatched to the Talley Cemetery residence, located off Beaudry Circle in the area of the 7800 block of Highway 7 north, to a disturbance involving a gun that had occurred between 7:30 and 8 p.m.
While enroute, the deputies were advised that Hot Springs Village police were out with one part of the disturbance at McCann’s Shell Auto Mart, 4401 Highway 7, so they stopped and spoke to the victims, Troy Talley, 48, and Michelle Talley, 44, both of Hot Springs, who stated they were just visiting family at the Talley Cemetery Road residence.
They stated a family member who lives there, identified as Tony Talley, came out of the residence and was yelling at them and then fired two rounds in their direction and a third round as they got into their vehicle trying to leave.
Another witness, 52, who lives at the residence, also stated Tony Talley came out of the house and yelled, “Get ya some m—————-!” and fired two rounds. She stated he fired a third round as the victims were leaving.
The deputies went to the residence and after their arrival two women pulled up including the female homeowner and they were able to get Tony Talley to come out of the house and detain him.
Tony Talley reportedly told Cannon there were no weapons in the house and claimed the victim shot at him.
Cannon asked the female family member if there were any weapons and she said there was a pistol under her bed.
Cannon and Sgt. West searched the area and could not locate the pistol where she said it would be. Green asked Tony Talley where the pistol was and at first he again denied there was a weapon in the house, but finally admitted it was under the mattress.
Cannon looked and located a .38 special revolver between the mattress and box springs and noted there were six rounds in the gun and three had been fired.
Talley was taken into custody without further incident on the two felony charges. Both of the victims and the witness who was at the residence all said they didn’t know why the suspect would have fired at them.
