The Allegheny County Department of Public Works today announced that Center Road in Plum Borough is temporarily closed for safety reasons due to mine subsidence underneath the road which is causing it to collapse. Jersey barriers have been erected across the road north of the Boyce Park main entrance and south of Trestle Road preventing through access on Center Road.

Allegheny County will be issuing an emergency contract to allow the Department to effect repairs and reopen the closed portion of the road. There is not currently a time frame for when repairs will begin, or when the road will be re-opened. While the road is closed, traffic should detour by using Saltsburg Road to Pierson Run Road to Old Frankstown Road.
