Bluffton Police Release Annual Crackdown Results
Three persons arrested for impaired driving-related offenses
Bluffton, IN- Bluffton Police Department today announced that officers made three impaired driving arrests during the March crackdown.
In all, agency officers dedicated 28 hours of overtime towards Indiana’s annual mobilization against impaired and dangerous driving. In addition to the impaired driving arrests, citations were issued for various other violations, including seat belt and child restraint violations, speeding, and littering. A total of 74 criminal arrests, traffic citations, and warnings were issued.
“The goal of this campaign is prevention, not arrest,” said Deputy Chief Nathan Huss. “Our enforcement efforts may have increased over the last 28 days, but drivers should remember – our commitment to keeping roadways safe from impaired and dangerous drivers is a year round effort,” Huss continued.
Operation Pull Over Blitz 78 was supported by federal funding allocated to the Bluffton Police Department from the Traffic Safety division of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI). More than 250 Indiana law enforcement agencies participated in this annual, statewide enforcement effort, which generally occurs around the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.
