Two suspects arrested following break-in outside local nightclub

A local man and a Malvern man were arrested early Saturday after an alleged break-in to a Pearcy woman’s car in the parking lot of a local nightclub.
Jeremy Franklin Fisher, 26, of Malvern, was taken into custody shortly after 4 a.m. and charged with a felony count of breaking or entering, punishable by up to six years in prison. His alleged accomplice, Casey Dean Adams, 25, who lists an address of 166 Grimmett Loop, No. 1 , was taken into custody at the same time on a misdemeanor count of theft by receiving, punishable by up to one year in jail.
Fisher was later released on $2,500 bond and Adams was released on $1,000 bond and both are set to appear April 8 in Garland County District Court.
According to reports, shortly before 3:30 a.m., Garland County sheriff ’s deputies Elwood McConnell and Charles Delahunt were dispatched to Smyley’s Crabshack, 4916 Central Ave., regarding a theft that had just occurred and arrived to find several people in the parking lot.
Security officers Anthony McCool, 27, and Richard Retford, 28, approached them and stated they had two suspects, identified as Fisher and Adams, detained after a break-in to a vehicle in the lot.
Retford stated he was watching over the lot when a woman, 24, of Pearcy, came up to him and stated someone had broken into her car and stolen her purse.
At that time, Retford states he saw the two suspects walking across the lot and one of them had an object in his hand.
He told them to stop but they both took off running, he states, and he chased them and caught up to Fisher behind a black vehicle. He noted Fisher was the one carrying the object earlier, but he he had nothing in his hand at that point. Adams was caught by McCool.
A female witness, 25, of Waldo, states she was sitting in her vehicle getting ready to leave when she saw Fisher holding a purse which he stuck in the rear tire fender well of the black vehicle. Retford looked and located a purse in that location, which the victim identified as her property.
She checked the purse and noted several items were missing. McConnell asked Fisher where the items from the purse were, and Fisher claimed he thought it was his vehicle he was getting in “because his keys worked in the door lock” but denied taking anything.
McConnell noted a strong odor of intoxicants on Fisher’s breath and that he was unsteady on his feet and using slurred speech. Fisher didn’t have any keys in his possession.
Adams was questioned about the stolen items and said Fisher had only given him a cellphone and everything else was given to Fisher’s sister, who was not found at the scene. Deputies noted Adams also appeared intoxicated.
Adams gave deputies a cellphone which was identified as belonging to the victim. Both suspects were then arrested.
