Robbery Suspect Arrested
On March 30, 2014 at approximately 12:49 a.m., Los Banos Police Officers responded to a robbery at a business in the 500 block of West I Street.
The store clerk told Officers, a man entered the business wearing a hooded sweatshirt in attempt to conceal his face. The suspect demanded money and the clerk complied. The suspect threatened the clerk and fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Officers reviewed video surveillance at the business and were able to identify the suspect as 31-year-old Enrique Estrada of Los Banos. One of the Officers recognized Estrada and was aware; he was previously arrested and convicted in connection with a Los Banos bank robbery in 2005.
“Estrada served one-year in jail and 5-years probation for the bank robbery; he now faces 15-years in state prison, if convicted for this crime.”
- Jason Hedden, Police Commander
The Officers responded to Estrada’s residence and learned he left after an argument with family members. Estrada was located and arrested near the intersection of Pacheco Boulevard and Badger Flat Road. Estrada was wearing the same clothing used in the robbery and also in possession of a corkscrew he used as a weapon during the robbery.
