Parks Bureau Detectives’ investigation into an armed (knife) robbery that occurred on March 24, 2014, at Los Robles Park (14906 Los Robles Ave., Hacienda Heights), led them to a residence in the City of Bassett. They were there to arrest Angel Vengas, male, Hispanic, 18 years of age for his involvement in the Robbery. The detectives were met at the door by Suspect Venegas’ father. When the detectives told the father that they were there to see his son, the father asked Suspect Venegas what he had done. The Suspect then admitted to a Burglary that he recently committed in the City of Industry. He then showed the detectives the items and firearms he had taken in the commission of that crime. Upon completion of the investigation into the burglary that Suspect Venegas confessed to, the detectives then asked him about the robbery of the cellular phone which they originally contacted him for. Suspect Venegas admitted to the robbery and gave them the information as to where they could retrieve the stolen phone, which the detectives ultimately did.
Angel Venegas, resident of Bassett, was placed under arrest for robbery and booked at Industry Sheriff Station where he is being held in lieu of a $100,000.00 bail. He will be charged with the burglary upon completion of that investigation.
