A residence on South Rd in the area of Olivia Lane was broken into sometime today. The residence is very close to the road and a window was broken out in a door that was within view of the roadway. The residence is equipped with an alarm system and it appears it did its job and they left after gaining entry.

If you saw anything out of place or suspicious today please call the police department at 772-2929.

Anyone that comes to your home soliciting for work (driveway sealing, roofing, ect.) may be using that opportunity to speak with you as a way to see if someone is home or possibly scouting your residence to return at another time. Soliciting is illegal in Kensington as it is in most communities throughout the state. Soliciting permits are given by the Board of Selectmen after the business or individual goes though a vetting process and meets requirements like proof of insurance and a back ground check done by the police chief. If someone comes to your home soliciting something please get the best description of the suspects as you can and any information about their vehicle is extremely helpful especially license plate numbers.
