Police and Fire Aid Injured Man
On April 8, 2014, 2014 at approximately 3:49 p.m., the Police Department was dispatched to the Los Banos Unified School District office located in the 1700 block of S. 11th Street for a report of a man on the roof of the building.
Police arrived moments later and were able to secure the scene and determine that this was a medial issue. The 24-year-old man was treated for what appears to be self-inflicted injuries. He was transported by ambulance for medical treatment.
The man remains at a Modesto area hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
The incident occurred after school hours and the school district acted appropriately by calling 9-1-1, which aided in bringing this to a safe, successful conclusion.
“We commend the Los Banos Fire Department’s resourceful actions. Fire personnel provided medical care and quickly got the man down from the building.”
- Jason Hedden, Police Commander
