Winslow Woman Arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated following Accident.
On April 13, 2014 at approximately 4:15pm Deputy Seger was dispatched to an accident that had occurred on Sugar Ridge Rd. near SR 61. Dispatch advised the caller stated 2 vehicles had side swiped and another had been forced into a ditch.
While speaking to the drivers of the vehicles, Deputy Seger asked Talisa Williams, driver of vehicle #1 about the cause of the accident, she stated she was looking at a residence on the North side of the roadway and drifted across the center of the road. Talisa stated her vehicle then side swiped the other vehicle. As Deputy Seger was speaking with Talisa he observed her speech to be very slurred and slowed. He observed she had bloodshot glossy eyes, and was having a difficult time balancing on her feet.
Deputy Seger advised Talisa of her Indiana Implied Consent Warnings. Talisa advised she understood and would submit to a chemical test. Talisa was transported to the Daviess Community Hospital to obtain a chemical sample.
At the Daviess Community Hospital, a certified lab technician obtained a chemical sample from Talisa. Documents provided by the lab technician advised, Talisa tested positive to contain Marijuana and Opiates within her system.
Talisa was transported to the Pike County Sheriff's Office where she was placed into the custody of jail staff.
