The Windom Police Department is asking parents to remind their kids to never accept rides from strangers following a Sunday evening incident.
The Windom Police Department is investigating a report of an 8 year old female that was approached by an unknown male in Windom on 4-13-14 at app. 7:38pm. This unknown male spoke with the girl along the roadway near Winfair School. This male told the girl that he was told by her mother to pick her up. The child refused the ride with the suspicious male, and the parents confirmed that they had not sent anyone to pick her up.
This male was described to have been driving an older goldish colored 4dr car with damage to the driver’s side front of the car. The driver was described as being app. 20 years old, black hair in a Mohawk, mustache, 6’ tall, heavy set, and white with a tan or darker complexion.
There have been other recent reports of similar incidents in other towns in SW Minnesota.
