On April 17, 2014, the Albany Police Department received several entering auto reports and in all incidents car doors were left unlocked. In one of the case, a 9mm firearm was taken and in another a purse, a debit cards, and a laptop.
• 400 block of Kingswood Drive
• 3000 block of Cane Mill Drive (three reports)
• 1300 block of Westwood Drive
• 400 Clarendon Court
This Facebook posting is another attempt to remind citizens to remove all valuables from your vehicle and lock your doors. In a couple of the above reports, thieves just rambled through the glove compartment searching for valuables just because the car was unlocked. This is a preventable crime but the Albany Police Department needs you to partner in the fight to keep your valuables safe. Lock your cars doors and remove your valuables.
